| Foot pad replacement surgery
Hi all I was hoping someone could help me. My father is 60 years old in July. He has had alot of foot issues stemming from his flat feet. He just had double foot surgery in which his doc implanted foot padding as well as,sheath on tendons and an allograft. He has many issues including metaarsalgia in which he has had prior surgies to both feet. This is the first surgery however where they have operated on the bottom of his feet and both feet at the same time.
Anyway prior to all of this my fathers spend 14 hours a day on his feet in the fast food industry. My dads doc advised that this surgery will help eliviate pain and now, 5 weeks post op my father is really wondering whether or not he can go back to doing the work he was doing prior to surgery. His pain radiates from both of his feet up to his knees and into his back. MRI showed portions of my fathers back and knees "lit of like a christmas tree" He has now suggested my father see an othopedic specialist
Right now he is out of short term disability and he also has long term disability insurance. Has anyone else had this type of surgery and can you tell me if now after surgery you feel you can stand on your feet for long periods of time? My mom and I are really starting to worry if this is going to lead to my father being fully disabled and not being able to return to full employment.
Thank you in the time you spent reading and replying to this post
