| Update since my surgery!
I know this could fit under several categories so I'm putting it here. I know it's been 10 days but I've been in SO much pain I've not opened my laptop. Everything went well surgery wise. I just ended up with 2 cadaver bones, screws and pins that come out on Tuesday, of which I'm scared to death.
They sent me home with that nerve block which although was one of the most painful procedures I've ever had I sure was proud I had it and then they sent me home with the morphine pump so pain was handled fine until, yes until you have to call in and get an unsympathetic jerk who thinks she's God. She first called in Percocet the pharmacy didn't carry it so they gave me Tylenol 3 which we prescribe at our office for pain associated with Strep Throat. They they call me in 20 of oxycotin 20's, take one ever 12 hours and they worked great but then I ran out a day early and they told me I'd have to wait until until because the lady that does that wouldn't be in until Monday. My husband takes Loritab 7.5s for earlier broken ankle so he's sharing or I would die I guess.
The pain is naturally in each area that they done something but I'm hoping after the pins come out Tuesday (Like I said I'm tripping over that) then new cast 6 weeks, then soft cast for 6 weeks, then camo walker cast for 6 weeks and then finally 6 weeks of P.T. Very Long drawn out procedure.
What they ended up doing was broke my foot across the top, inserted 2 cadaver bones instead of one to try to give me a little arch, flat footed person they said they'd ever seen but I'd had the plantar fascittis surgery already on both feet. Then, he cut open the bottom of my foot and put in a plastic thing to help make arch and screws to hold it in place and pins to hold the cadaver bones in place and the xrays show them things are in 4 inches or more. ohhhhhhhh
Then he cut and lenfthened my calf muscle and then cut the outside of my foot and did tarsal tunnel.
Other than pain everything going good so far. I've been flat of my back these first 2 weeks then I can get up, no weight bearing for 6 more weeks but looks like I'll make it.
Thanks for all your advice, help, and prayers.
I keep you all informed.
Love to you all,
Sherri
