Well I figure some eventful things have occurred worth sharing that were not like my first recovery. I saw my doctor the other day and He took a tweezer and small scissor and trimmed away my dead skin heel ulceration. Very gentle. Not a big deal. Kinda a relief. I went on a daring walk on campus with one crutch for the first time. I think it was probably half a mile... no I rested and went to class halfway through. It took a good hour of walking though. When I got home I discovered my heel was bleeding!

I called my doctor and rested and iced my foot and started the weekend a little early. If was light orange blood on my sock so they said that's good and to keep up bandaging it. It looks much nicer now but I guess that was my get out of Thursday afternoon class free card. (You only get one.) Boo. Either way I still feel it was a triumph because walking with one crutch was not something I reached until 3 months post op so I'm a month ahead of my last recovery. My left foot needs to get back to not going into overload. It is a lot making my newly reconstructed foot my main foot. I actually find myself favoring my right more. I think I've gained enough range of motion to cut my toenails and maybe paint them (Not something I usually do, is that cool?) that way I'll feel glamorous about the dead skin still shedding off and no shaving my legs. Oh before I wrap this up I found out in my xray I got a plate instead of a pin to hold some bone together. It looks like the pi symbol sideways. I like it. Well here's to walking before the snow sticks to the ground!
Also I did feel ill by the evening from pushing myself too hard. Friend said I looked like I was going to pass out when I was slumped over my knee scooter, so don't forget to eat and keep some sweet tarts around if you are going to exert yourself. It didn't hurt, just takes a lot out of you I guess.
