Ankle OATS procedure

Does the donor bone being harvested have to match the dna of the recipient?

Re: Ankle OATS procedure

Hello,
I asked my surgeon the same question before receiving my cadaver bone and was told no. A bone transplant (so to speak) is not the same as an organ, the dna does not have to be the same. -Lauren
