my mom was trying to take a glass door off where she works and it slipped out of her hands, landing across her foot. her big toe was numb for a while but now it's really tender and swollen to the point that it's blown up. what can she do for it?
she tried ice but it did not help a lot.

Has your Mom had it checked by a doc. I recently dropped a piece of broken glass on the top of my foot and cut it. After three weeks there was still swelling and I was unable to move my toe up and down. As it turned out I had ruptured the tendon and needed surgery ....the sooner the surgery is done the better. To test your mom can hold other toes and see if she can lift the big toe independently. If she can't ...should get it checked out.
