| Anybody experience Planters Plate Strain or Tear?
First Dr said 2nd metatarsal overload.
Second Dr said Morton's Neoroma- recommended alcohol shots.
My first Dr did not feel I have the neoroma. I questioned the new Dr about the alcohol shots on my second visit and he seemed to be done with me for questioning him. Needless to say, I have not been back to see him. I found a new Dr at a Sports Medicine office.
This Dr is saying I have Planter's Plate Strain. She said at this point the best thing to do is cast it. So I just got done wearing a fiberglass walking cast for 4 weeks. During the time I was wearing the cast, I did on occasion have some pain in the ball of my right foot. I have now had the cast off almost a week and the ball of my foot feels swollen and hurts when I walk. I really don't feel like there has been any change in the foot from wearing a cast for 4 weeks. Dr said to wait 2 weeks, after the cast is removed to see what happens, so that is what I am doing.
So has anyone had this? From what I have read online, if you let this condition go for to long, it will usually result in a tear. Which requires surgery.
The ball of my foot has been hurting for 2 years, I did not get medical care right away due to a lot of reason, now I am wishing I would have.
So has anybody had surgery to repair a planters plate strain or rupture? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
