| 5th metatarsal fracture and the Aircast
Hello all.
6 weeks ago I had an operation to repair a long term break of my 5th metatarsal on my right foot. I had it pinned and a bone graft from the inside of my right ankle leaving me with one small scar on my left side and larger one down the side of my right foot.
I have been non-weight bearing for 6 weeks in a cast and from Monday I was given an Air cast to be in for a month.
My problem is that, with the walking I am doing to and from work as well as sitting at my desk at work and train travel, when I take my boot off in the evening, my foot is very swollen. Is this normal or do I have the boot on too tight?
