I'm 10 weeks post op from subtalar fusion and tendon repair/transfer. The doctor took me out of the cast last week and placed me in a boot. I am not to weight bear for 2 more weeks. That is also when I will be going to PT. In the mean time, I am to work on range of motion. Since I haven't been to PT yet, I would love suggestions on what others did that get the best results. I'm just doing simple up and back motions and trying to do circles 2 or 3 times a day. Just really anxious about trying to get things back to normal.
My subtalar fusion and post tibial tendon repair was June 6 of this year.
My orthopedic physician told me to put heels of both feet down, next to each other & try and turn them in...to touch. (you can't turn in too much, of course, due to fusion) Try to pick up marbles with bare feet & drop into a cup. You are doing the correct things. Try & form letters of the alphabet with your operated foot. Your PT person will be of big help.
Good Luck! I hope to get rid of my aircast at tomorrow's appt. with my surgeon. Zoey's Grammy

I hope you are having a successful recovery from your surgery. I used to live in Pittsburgh and know many of the physicians in that area so that is why I asked.
