Does anyone else take supplements to help with bone healing post-op?
I take Calcium, Vitamin D, and Glucosamine/Chondroitin MSM to help me with healing.
My OS said there has been no scientific evidence that Glucosmine works, but if I wanted to take it, I could.
He also recommended the Calcium and Vitamin D, even though I drink LOTS of skim milk.
I try to eat healthy and get lots of sleep as well (and lots of exercise pre-op, limited post-op).
Re: Supplements To Aid in Bone Healing for Foot/Ankle
I take Vitman B complex and Magnesium supplements, and I try to eat as much protein as possible. I don't know if these last two do any good, but I'm pretty sure the B Complex does work for the pain!
There's a thread called "Vitamin B6 DRASTICALLY has helped my foot pain!", which can be found here: http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=752432
It could be useful!

Thanks.
I also take Magnesium but for other reasons, Omega 3 with high DHA, and B12 for memory and a few others. I will be off the Glucosamine once the feet are completely healed but will continue with the Calcium (always good for preventing osteoporosis) and Vitamin D....living in Canada with a LONG 6 months of winter is not good...lol.

Yeah, the winter in my country doesn't do good to my feet either... Summer is so much better for healing!
