Has anyone had this surgery? Had the surgery Sept 15. They put a screw in my heel. But am still having problems. The doctor told me for it to heal completly it takes another 9 months.

Re: Posterior Tendon surgery. Results

What surgeries did you have? I assume that one of the proceedures was a calcaneal osteotomy. What kinds of problems are you still experiencing? I had flat foot surgery 17 months ago. One of my 5 proceedures was the calcaneal osteotomy with two screws. You are VERY early in the recovery process. It definitely takes around a year to start to feel pretty good. Some people (me included) have to have the screws removed once the osteotomy completely heals.

It definitely took the full year until my foot felt good again. At 3 - 3 1/2 months you are still very early in the recovery process. I know it feels like it has already been forever but when it comes to this surgery, it takes a long time for things to property heal.

Re: Posterior Tendon surgery. Results

Thank you for your reply. Am on the boot again because I twisted my ankle and the tendon in the outside hurt. am going to physical therapy to relive the pain. Didn't realize that this surgery would take so long for recovery.
