| Re: 6 Month Post Flat Foot Reconstruction
I am 20 months post ptt repair, calcaneal/cotton osteotomy, tendon transfer and gastroc recession. I am doing great now. I am able to work full time and then do whatever errands are necessary without thinking about my foot. Three toes and the top of my foot still have reduced sensation but it is not a big deal. As long as I do my calf stretches every day, I am good to go. I am careful about wearing good shoes and my orthotics to hopefully prevent my other foot from going south on me. The only restriction that the surgeon placed on me is to avoid high impact activities because a repaired tendon is never as strong as a virgin tendon. Be prepared for a long and frustrating recovery and be sure that you have a raised toilet seat, knee walker, shower chair, lots of pillows (foam wedge) and help availabe for the first few weeks. For me, the tough recovery was worth it as it gave me my life back
