| just had mri----peroneal tendinits--need advice
I had been posting in the neuropathy section because I thought I had nerve damage. The neurologist said it was tendinitis.
I had an MRI friday.
I called an oncall nurse through a local hospital. Asked her about tendinits.
I asked her about doing light walking. I had been doing light walking. She said before i walked to move the foot up and down a little so the tendon wasn't brittle or whatever.
I don't know if I have damaged it further. My symptoms are redness in the ankle, slight swelling, hot to touch, and painn shooting up leg if left untreated.
Before I listened to the nurse the inflammation seemed to go away for several hours after use of ice so i could sit and maybe watch a ballgame or drive to the store and as long as I stayed off of the ankle it didn't get hot.
I use crutches. Now it starts to heat up as soon as I am not elevating it.
i get the MRI results in a day or two.
If I stay in bed for a month and ice and elevate this will it heal?
What kind of doctor do I need to see?
Am I going to need surgery?
Pain is under ankle bone on lateral side of foot.
This has been going on for six months but the ankle inflammation just started less than a month ago. It was originally misdiagnosed as a knee problem and because the doctors said it was a knee thing, I kept using the clutch in my vehicle. After three months the foot started hurting and it gradually got worse, with the ankle inflammation and here I am.
I am scared. Need help please. This has been a nightmare. It has completely turned my life upside down. I cry myself to sleep and sometimes I don't want to live anymore.
