| Ankle pain after surgery
I had an arthroscopic Brostrum procedure along with gastroc recession on May 2, 2012. My healing has been coming along ok after more than 3 years of misdiagnosis and different therapies. However, now I find that I have tremendous weakness and twinging pain on the inside of my ankle. This twinging happens with certain weight bearing and it is behind my navicular bone and back towards the calcaneous.
I feel it most when I come to a stop and then try to turn my foot. Also, if I bend over to pick something up and then try to take my first step.
Any ideas on what this could be? Is it just the ankle is still trying to heal and strengthen after surgery? My physical therapist and surgeon seem to think it's my achilles tendon healing after the gastroc recession. However, I've told them it feels closer to the navicular bone than the achilles. They have ruled out posterior tib. No radiating pain with that, thank God.
