| foot numbness
Hi, I am a 24 year old male. I have been running for years, since I was 15, on and off, but mosty on. In the past few years, a condition has developed which has outlasted multiple pairs of shoes, different lacing techniques, and different shoe styles.
When I go for a run, around the 30-35 minute mark, I start getting pins and needles in my feet. It starts in my toes (big toe area) and progresses within 5-10 minutes to the entire foot, from toes to heel. If I continue running on my feet, the numbness worsens until I cannot feel the ground or the shoes at all. The only way to alleviate the problem is to stop running completely. Once I do, the sensation returns to my feet within a few minutes as if nothing happenned. But then when I start running again, it comes back again within 5-10 minutes.
I do have mildly flat feet and therefore I have tried running with more arch support, but it does not seem to make much of a difference if at all.
I have set up an appointment with a doctor, but the only time available was a month away so I wanted to try my luck on one of these websites, any help or advice would be very appreciated, as this is quicklky ruining my enjoyment of running.
thank you!
