Tendon Transfer vs Muscle Transfer

I have foot drop for several years now. Even though I have tried just about everything imaginable to correct it, still not returned. However, the doctor I just saw suggested either a tendon transfer or possibly a muscle transfer (which I never heard of), but seems to be successful. I'm going for a Nerve and muscle test next month to see if I'm a candidate for the either one. Has anyone ever had a muscle transfer? Also, if someone has some knowledge of muscle transfer vs tenndon transfer and which would be better I would appreciate any info you can give. Not sure of the down time for either, so any input would help.

Thanks,
Sue
