I am just past 2 weeks post op for PTTD surgery. So far the pain has been mainly from irritation at the incision sites. Today, however the pain seems to be a serious ache coming from deep inside my bones. And it doesn't feel like it will be going away anytime soon. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks,
Ginger

Ginger, that pretty much describes the pain I have been having since I started weight bearing. I think it is normal and probably gets better with time. I would recommend talking to your phys therapist but first you need to get stuff straightened out there. When is your next appt? I start on monday.

I don't start physical therapy til the end of December. I have a month of working toward FWB before PT starts. I think the outside has healed, now it's time for the inside tendons etc.
You aren't the only one. I had to make a list of everyone and their surgery dates. Which reminds me, anyone heard from Mimi? She had surgery 10/10. I hope she's doing well. Then there's LabGimp 10/18, Bonnie 10/26, Erin and Cinder the first week in November. Good luck ladies! Let us know how you are!
Totally normal Ginger! I get the deep down aching that I swear goes into my bone marrow. Especially lately with the change in weather. I am so dreading winter coming. I pray I won't need another surgery and will be off crutches by then. Ohio winters are not very nice. Hang in there Ginger!

So sorry you are having so much pain! Do you have good drugs? Are you still icing?
I plan to have my massage therapist come to my house to do lymph drainage. It's a wonderful technique that helps get the old lymph fluid moved out and new lymph fluid in. It's a subtle touch, but very effective.
It's called "Lymph Drainage" but the lymph fluid doesn't actually leave the body. The massage therapist uses a very light touch to help move the old lymph out and allow the new lymph to flow in. She lightly presses her fingers in short movements along the lymph vessels in the direction the lymph naturally flows. This directs the lymph into the lymph nodes. It really lessens swelling. My therapist has drained my ankle, my neck, my face, even my puffy eyelids!
I don't know if I've explained it very well, but you can google it for more info. A massage therapist needs to take special classes to learn to do this technique, but you can even do it on yourself. I haven't looked, but I'd be willing to bet there is a you tube video on it.
