I dealt okay over the summer but not sure what ill do this winter if I need to go out to the doctor and I'm the only one home and can't scrape my car.
The thought of you trying to be NWB and scraping your windshield just makes my stomach curl. I think I remember seeing some kind of mat or cover that you could put on your windshield when you get home and then you can pull it off when you get ready to leave. That way you don't have to scrape or anything. Where I live we don't get but maybe a day or two of snow so I don't really have any other recommendations but that one.
Please keep us posted on your recovery. I will do better about stopping in here. Just got busy with that whole thing called life....

Best news of all!!! I qualified for financial aid to pay 100% of my hospital stay and surgery!!!!!!
That honestly just makes my day! I knew that you were worried about finances and that we had talked about the Shriner's but this is even better. Yeah you!!!!
Great to hear from you Grump!!! It's been a while! I contacted the national president of the Shriners and they couldn't help me because I wasn't a child. They said that they focus on children. They were great in getting back to me though. I was surprised at the quick response being I contacted the president. HAHA
You are right that some people just don't understand what it is like to need something but know and have to think "how bad do I want this? is it worth the pain?". The other day I needed sour cream and was right next to a large store that had it but knew that I had to walk to the back of the store for that one small thing so I went to a convenience store and took the chance that they carried it. Maybe that is just laziness! haha Glad you've come back to talk to us!
Did you try telling them that while your body may be an adult you are really immature?
When I was NWB I would have dreams about going to the grocery store and just giving them my list and paying for everything when someone went and got everything for me.
When you have to think "am I going to be huffing, puffing and sweating by the time I get back to my car only to have to go home and rest for an hour" it's not laziness that you don't want to walk to the back of the store.
Some grocery stores will do that for you. There's a local one here that does. Their store is also set up that they send your groceries out on a conveyor and give u a card that matches te totes. You drive up, give them the card and they load your car for ya. Now if only they would come home and bring them in the house.
Ref: ice on windshield,,,there's a product on the market (auto parts store, Walmart in my area sells) that is a aerosol for de-icing. You can spray onto windshield or frozen lock and ice melts instantly.
