I went to the doctor last Tuesday and she said I didn't need the boot any more and it was ok to use a laced up brace (it's soft) with a good sneaker. I had a hard time walking out of the office like this, so used the walker but now I kind of limp my way around the house. I can walk a bit too outside with a big limp. I do use the walker at night to go to the bathroom, but my bathroom is not far from my bed. I just two advil and off to PT now. She uses a laser to get the swelling down and hooks me up to some pulsating machine while my leg is on a heating pad. I think it helps get the blood flowing and the mobility back. It's only my third time today at PT.
I will let you know how it goes
Not sure I know what a trainer is. Can you tell me? I went from splint, to cast, to boot, to brace.
Hi
I have been following your posts, I am 8 weeks nearly 9 and am in so much pain from my heel when PWB, I am using crutches all the time again, after the first 2 days getting on fine, then the heel pain hit, lol.
Over the weekend my foot started with different pains and today when I to home from work it was very swollen, so much so I could feel the swelling going up my leg. I have had my cryo boot icing it, but am taking painkillers a lot more again?
Is this normal

Thanks. What a coincidence. I just learned that on The Today Show this morning where they were saying how different areas say different things like Soda and Pop. Thanks so much. It's so awesome to communicate with someone from the UK.
HI Annimal 1968 I had the exact same thing. I was in tears from the heel pain. I had it for several days. I asked the doctor about it and she said that because of the NWB status and when you go to PWB the nerves are I guess being waken up and it it causes the pain. I does go away. I was so upset thinking I will never walk again. I will be 11 weeks Thursday so we are around the same time. It is still painful to walk and the PT person put some keniso tape on it last night. The kind they use for athlethes to help with swelling. I am trying to only take Advil in the middle of the day if I am staying home or before I go out and know I will be on my feet a bit more. I am trying to stand more so I made so far 8 Irish Soda Breads in the course of 3 days. So at least my efforts bear great treats. Keep in touch. It is nice to know that others are with you and have the same recovery "pains."
