| Re: Overlapping toe surgery
Hi Anho. I just had toe surgery in December, but not the same - bunion and hammertoe with pin. It wasn't too bad but definitely took longer than I thought to get back on my feet. As with most surgeries, the first two days were painful enough to need pain meds and after that it was swollen and an annoying kind of pain, not pain-pain.
Best thing you can do before is probably to get your house ready. You can't know exactly how you'll feel, but knowing you are all set up to be one-footed for a little while will definitely put your mind at ease. A shower chair might be extravagant / wasteful but it's oh so nice to let the water rain over you. And maybe stock up on personal things -- it's amazing what you'll need or get a craving for before you get to go shopping again. I found I wanted babywipes, the coffee creamer my husband won't buy, gentle soap and lotion for the incision…and more stuff to read! Your kids will help, too, running to get you pillows and drinks and the mail! Hope all goes well.
