Unhappy Need to Vent! Silly Foot!

Hey all,

Am so sick of all of this and the waiting to see the orthopedic guy to discuss what he wants to do again. Am so sick of my foot hurting when it presses in the wrong spots when trying to sleep and the fact that its so unstable i cant walk without it collapsing!

And now to add to all the injuries i already have i have discovered i have a really sore spot on my fibula bone that hurts a lot when i press it Discovered it the other day at the osteopath who is just trying to loosen up my calf muscles.

Just what i needed more injuries or bone bruising etc as its up a bit in my leg away from my ankle. Stupid collapsing ankle if the other one hadn't got sore and i hadn't started having to use my bung one again this probably wouldn't have been the case as it wasn't this way a fortnight ago though have gone back to crutches the past few days and the crutch pads i got really are making a huge difference having them.

But i don't need a sore spot on my fibula bone that hurts when pressed along with my other pains in other sore spots I just cant wait to get to the ortho in a few weeks might have to mention it then if its still sore i guess.

But even though i am sick of all this i do have some good news the books i have ordered for reading after surgery are arriving and i did get at least a week of fulltime work experience in reception so that will help the time to pass a bit rather than having to sit at home.

Just hope my good ankle doesnt stir up more than it has later. Am just so sick of a sore bung ankle and the waiting to get it fixed up i mean its been 6 months now and i am so tired of it all.

I just want my life back.
And i am just so tired of being in pain let alone to discover a new area of pain when i press it just what i need! Sigh oh well going to head to bed

Sorry to vent i just really needed to get my fustration out.

Thanks for listening hope everyone else is going well with there foot/ankle

Hi and I feel like I was in the same boat or as they say "in your shoes". My ankle basically collasped and I finally got the right doctor who told me I had no other choice but to have a triple arthrodesis. He was right on target and now almost 20 weeks later I am almost back to normal. I have a slight limp which I am sure will take time but I am so pleased with the outcome. Not knowing what you problem is I can't advise other than to tell you to make sure you are seeing the right doctor. When I first saw mine after 8-10 yrs of being misdiagonosed I too was worried about this happening to my good ankle and also told him of soreness in my big toe. He said that the collapsed ankle was causing all kinds of problems with other parts - knee, big tog and even the good foot and that once surgery was done I should see improvement with those other parts and he was right. If you have this surgery done soon you can expect to be non weight bearing for 8-10 weeks so get a knee walker. Good luck

Awh I still can't think of going to see the doc again, then having to wait with a chance I might not even ger that day or doctor. I feel for you. I feel bad that you are in so much pain but it will get better soon!

I'm back in my foot for the last two weeks before surgery. Booo! and I still have three 8 hour shifts back to back, standing on my feet left. My work hates my boot...almost as much as I do. My OS nurse thinks because I walk funny I'm straining my plantar facisa(sp?)...just what I need to hurt another tendon.

I wish you the best. The 26th when you see your doctor isn't super far away. Keep us posted and feel free to vent whenever...I'm off to work now.. I hope my foot holds up

Hey Powerplay thanks for your response I dont know properly what he wants to do but he mentioned ligament reconstruction using a tendon and other repairs of the ligaments and holding the top bones together somehow due to my high ankle sprain that i have as well.

Which makes sense to stop my foot being so unstable etc! However i wont totally know till i see him in a few weeks which hopefully comes fast at least i have a week of work experience to fill in most of that time

Glad to hear yours went well too and hope it keeps going well for you.

Thanks for the response

Thanks courtney at least i know the 26th is set in stone lol hopefully the rest can be too.

Sorry to hear you are back in the boot for the last few weeks before surgery and have 3 8 hour shifts back to back. And no please dont hurt anything else i really do know what thats like and its such a pain in the butt.

I have had to go back to only using my good foot and crutches however i still get aches in my good foot too sigh! We just cant win.

And yes at least my foot doesnt hurt nearly as much when i am not on it but i didnt need to have a new spot of pain when i press it start up but yes will see if it just goes away or something but will probably just mention it to my orthopedic anyway but all good.

Hope your foot holds up for you and hey at least you will very soon be on your way to feeling better! The 28th really isnt that far away at all. And i really wish you all the best for it. Hopefully i wont be too far behind but guess i will just have to wait and see!

All the best to you hope it goes well and your foot holds out!
