High wbc and elevated bilirubin

Hi. I had a gallbladder attack last Nov so my doctor ordered an ultrasound and hida scan. According to my ultrasound, i had no stone or infection, but the hida scan showed that my gallbladder is low functioning. The ejection fraction rate was 8%. I met with a surgeon but decided to put off surgery. I tried to keep on low diet but sometime it was hard to follow.
Since Feb, i had fever like symptoms till now and my temp is always above normal range. Also I had dull pain under the right rib cage. So I had blood test on Saturday and the result is back. The result says I have high bilirubin which is 1.4 (normal: 0-1.2) and high wbc which is 10.3 (normal is ~10.8). Other liver test was normal. It seems like iI have my gallbladder issue but I have not talked to my doctor yet. He will probably call me tomorrow.
Does it seem like an emergency situation?? I have scheduled to see a surgeon on June 1st. I think I should schedule a surgery to remove it..

Yes you should have it out ASAP. It obviously is diseased and you are risking a rupture. You really should have had it out when the HIDA Scan came back at 8%! Call your doctor - do not wait on him!

Re: High wbc and elevated bilirubin

I would either take myself to a hospital or get that doctor on the line today and get it scheduled asap.
Mine was necrotic...the tissue was dead. I was a very short time away from a rupture, and I basically had NO symptoms! My GI doctor was able to see just how inflamed it was on the ultrasound and convinced me this had to come out. Fortunately, my surgeon agreed. No one expected to find what they did when they got in there....but this isnt something you want to wait on. Is there another surgeon you can call who can look at your scans? An experienced surgeon knows the risks of waiting..
