Just trying to understand

Hi guys and gals,
I posted another thread that I was getting an ultrasound to check gall bladder. Anyway, I've been noticing what feels like a lump under right rib cage (not a physical lump, more a sensation of such - tightness and discomfort but not pain). Anyway, I was wondering in between bouts of pain, does anyone else with diagnosed gall bladder issues experience this lump feeling? It's like a tightness there that shouldn't be there. Last night I thought I was leaning on a tennis ball. I didn't have the pain I'd been getting the past few weeks and my diarrhea has settle down.

At this stage I'm convinced it's my gall bladder based on all the associated symptoms, but wondering if it's inflamed or blocked. It feels almost muscular, but I am 99% sure it's not a muscle issue. I don't have insane pain at the moment, but have had a couple of rough weeks and several months back had what I would now deem gall bladder attacks - although some figured it was muscular skeletal, others thought it was my heart (knew it wasn't).

The closest I recall having these sensations of weird fullness and stuff anywhere in my abdomen was when I was pregnant and when I had ovarian cancer - I have no ovary on the right side anymore, so that pretty much cancels that out. I just hope they find something on the ultrasound tomorrow because if they don't, I imagine this sets in motion the highly cryptic episodes of seeing specialists and doing tests through gastroenterologists and yielding nothing until the critical moment when suddenly they find an issue in the ER - been there, done that - have the tour jacket...I'm sure some can relate to that! Gastroenterology seems to often be a bumbling field of possibilities and often we don't always get the answers. Neurology, while also complex seems to be way more straight forward!

If the u/s doesn't find anything then a HIDA Scan is next to test for function. Result for it would be a percentage and below 35% and above 75% are considered non functioning.

Are you positive you dont have a hernia? They can present the way you are describing.

Just had my GB removed, I never had the lump you are describing. Get the ultrasound and hopefully it will clear things up!

Re: Just trying to understand

I had a sensation that felt like something was stuck under my right rib cage-like a baseball was lodged up there. It was a very full feeling. Is this similar to what you're experiencing?

I had my GB removed 2 months ago. No stones, it just wasn't functioning. I had attacks, but I suffered more from almost constant rib/shoulder pain especially after eating and at night.
