I have had collicky pain off and on for years now but finally had the BIG attack last week that put me into the ER. They did an ultrasound and informed me that I was full of "sludge" and gravel....... lovely. After about 12 hours the pain faded.
I followed up with a GI doc 2 days later who ordered a HIDA scan. Results were low function and the doc, of course, recommended surgery.
I want to try to avoid surgery and try the olive oil/ lemon juice flush but I have the nagging feeling that it could be dangerous, specially since I have only found anecdotal reports. Has anyone here tried the flush routine? How did you feel? Did it hurt? Did it work?
Someone left me the ingredients to try the gallbladder flush, but I have not tried it yet. Here is what you need, some lemon or grapefruit juice, cooking oil, and a couple Tbsps. of Epsom salts. Hope that helps!
