My ultrasound found the same thing. The report stated that stones could not be excluded, but it was likely polyps. My gastro guy (who is excellent btw) said gallbladder polyps are not like colon polyps, in that they are not a determining factor for cancer. I've seen a few reports on the internet to the contrary, but nothing concrete.
Also, he did say that the gallbladder is so closely tied with the digestion process that it can most definitely be the cause of pain, gas/bloating, etc. I've got periodic dull/gnawing pain in my gallbladder area (URQ), but nothing too bad. I also suffer from gas/bloating and indigestion, but the Dr. thinks it's because of my (mild) gastroparesis. The problem is, he says the cause of gastroparesis is often unknown, so it's possible the gallbladder could be causing all of this. I have a fairly large polyp (1cm) in the neck of the gallbladder, so it's a possibility. It's my decision on whether to get my gallbladder removed, but I'm not gonna make a decision until I get more information. I think if you suspect your gallbladder as a problem, maybe a HIDA scan would be in order.
Let me know what you find out, since we seem to be in similar boats.
