| I am back home from Gall Bladder Surgery
I just had gallbladder surgery this morning. I must admit, I was a little nervous but, I had a lot of great doctors and nurses who really cared and calmed my nerves down and explained all the procedures that were going to be done. First, they did blood work, then a urine sample, an EKG, and a chest X-ray. Then I talked with the anesthesiologist and my doctor. Wonderful staff. Anyway, I was given an injection in my IV to calm my nerves and then I was put to sleep. Before I knew it, I woke up and I was sore and in some pain. I was taken back to my room and given some pain medicine. I felt nauseated so I was given some phenagren. I fell alseep and and slept. When I woke up, mouth was kind of dry and I given ice chips and crackers, along with a little bit of water. I was ok until a couple of hours ago. I am in some serious pain but, I was given a prescription for lortab for pain. I just took one and waiting for it to help me sleep and get past this pain. Other than that, I am great. It feels good not to have those other pains I was experiencing with the gall stones. I am on a liquid diet for a couple of days and then I can slowly add good foods to my diet. I have to stay away from fatty foods for a while until my body gets used to it. Anyway, thanks for the good advice that you guys gave. Its helps to know that I am not alone and that lost of people have their gall bladders removed all the time. I look forward to posting on here regularly. I know this topic does not apply here, but, on November the 16th I am having a hysterectomy. That one won't be as great because I have to have an abdominal hysterectomy which will put me in the hospital for about 5-7 days. Anyway, All is well with the gall bladder surgery so far. I will keep you posted as to how I feel every day. This is a great site and am glad I can get the support I need.
