is this my gallbladder playing up !! - Gallbladder Message Board

For 10 months, I have been having pain under my right and letf ribs, I have had a scan to see if I have galltones it was normal, this was back in march, the pain started in january!!

I have had half a colonscopy, it went wrong!!

had a Endoscopy it showed inflammation of the duodenum, small bowel !!

had a barium enema that was normal!!

had a barium follow through, I am waiting the results, but she did say that it does not look like crohn's!!

Oh yeah I also get pain where my ovary is and appendix, I had a scan and the camera and she said that I had a cyst that was not big, that was in April!!

I have read on here that some pepole ask for a hida scan, I have a hospital apponitment on the 15th nov I will ask him about one!!

Why am I getting the pain under both ribs, some days the pain is only under the right and on others it on the left, but I am in pain every day and I have had it with pain.

I just need to know what is wrong, It scares me I have real bad Anxitey ...Mandy

I have had pain off and on under my left rib for about a year. But for the last 10 weeks it has also been under the right rib. Probably under the right rib the most often, but also sometimes in the center!

I have seen a specialist who after prodding my stomach some has really aggrivated it and it hurts even more! He thinks it is a hietus hernia, but I don't, as the symptoms don't fit. I get relief when I lay down instead of more pain for a start. The pain is usually there more in the evening, but can be all day. Sometimes it feels weird when I bend forward, not a burning pain of indigestion though but a sharp stitch like pain or sometimes just a dull ache. I do get indigestion and my stomach does bloat above the navel. These are the main symptoms. Sleep isn't really affected at all (except for worry!).

Anyway I have scheduled:

a scan of my gallbladder

a scan of my liver

colonoscopy (have had one 5 years ago that was fine)

endoscopy

My symptoms do fit what I read about gallbladder problems, but I think they also fit other more distressing problems. This is what is freaking me out. i don't react to the thought of something wrong very well at all and I think I make the problems worse with the worry, but I can't help that. I just think everything is the Big C. Now I am convinced I have stomach cancer or liver cancer or colon cancer. Even though everything fits the gallbladder.

Anyone else out there with these problems also?

i've had all the same problems and it started after i was pregnant and had a baby. All my ultrasounds were normal!! i'm so fed up with the pain though.

do any of you get 'attacks' or pain that gets worse after you eat or especially if you eat anything fatty?

or do any of you get worse pain that occurs near your ovulation or your period?

do any of you get pain in your upper back? shoulder or should blades?

i also feel the pain near my ovaries too sometimes.

my pain does not seem worse after food.

but i do notice it's worse around my cycle time.
