Could It Be Gall Bladder? - Gallbladder Message Board

Please help.

I am wanting to find out about other people's gall bladder symptoms? Especially those that have no stones.

About 2.5 years ago, right after the birth of my daughter, I stared noticing that particular things that I ate gave me horrible abdominal cramping and diarrhea. It would happen in the middle of the night, waking me up. It felt like my entire insides were being torn apart. Time and again I would be back and forth to the bathroom with the diarrhea. Seems like every few minutes and it would do nothing to relieve the cramping I had going on. I noticed in particular foods that had almost as many fat calories as regular calories were the ones I was most able to trace it back to. Things like regular sour cream, mayonnaise, microwave popcorn, chicken fried steak, fried chicken for example. I have adjusted my diet to not eat those things and really wasn't having too many issues. But, recently my stomach has become very upset. In the last few months after I eat I suffer waves of naseua, I also seem to burp excessivly and have gas constantly.

I had an ultrasound today that showed no stones. I was very disappointed by this as I had hoped it would clearly show the cause of my symptoms and I could get it taken care of.

Any info that you might have I would greatly appreciate.

It certainly sounds like gallbladder problems.
I think you need a HIDA scan that determines if your GB is functining properly by tracing the bile from the liver to the gallblader and the places it suppose to go and not go.

A problem with your symptoms is that GB problems do not usually cause diarrhea --- that sound like the last part of your small intestines (ilium) is not functioning to re-absorb your bile/ fats and when it enters the colon -- it causes diarrhea.
I would try taking some probiotic supplements and eating a good brand of yogurt w/ many active cultures -- hoping that it is the friendly bacteria in your intestines that are out of balance and need to be re-colonized and re-balanced.

The supplements that may help are Pearls, Reuteri, Culturlle and a broader spectum type like PB-8 or Kyodophilus 9. I have used them all.

If this does not work -- I think you need to see a Gastoenterologist for more Gastro testing.
