gallbladder or liver problem? - Gallbladder Message Board

for a little over a year i have been having occassional crampy pain under my right rib area. lately the pains are more often, last longer, and spread to arpound my back around my shoulder blade area. also for the past few days i have been having yellow stools. i really don't like going to th edr. so i've been putting it off, but do you think this could be a gallbladder problem, or something with the liver?

Are the stools yellow or more clay colored? Does the pain come on after you eat and are they worse if you eat fatty foods? If so, it sounds a lot like gall bladder, pain is usually in the upper back shoulder blade area. You really need to go get it checked out as it will only get worse.

It definitely sounds like gallbladder problems to me. I had a terrible time with my gallbladder. You should read all of the postings on the digestive disorders board. There is a ton there about gallbladder problems. And you should definitely go to the dr and get checked out. In order to determine whether or not it is definitely your gallbladder, they may need to do an ultra-sound, Hida Scan with CCK, and blood tests (to check your liver functions, as they can be effected by the gallbladder.)

It's a good idea to go to the doctor to check if you have some serious problem - with the gallstones or whatever....

If it's gallstones, don't let them do surgery before reading about alternative methods of safely removing gallstones. It's called a "gallstone flush".
