16 year old daughter with signs of gallbladder anyonelse with this young of age story - Gallbladder Message Board

Both my husband and both have our gallbladders out. Now our 16 year old is having all the same symptoms. She has the nausea,vomiting,headache,stomach hurting and is tired all the time. Has anyone know anyone at 16 to have gallbladder trouble.

Yes, I have known several under 20 who have had theirs out. Not rare at all. And with a family history, I'd get her tested ASAP. Looks like she may be having it out soon.

Thank you for the information on anyone who is that young and has trouble. All her bloodwork came back ok and they did a ultrasound thursday but I think the ultrasound is a waste of time. I think they should do a hida scan first. That's has been our experience before. If the ultrasound comes back ok then he is going to do the scan. I would like to rule this so if it isn't it we can start looking at other things. We are running out of things to look out.

My step-daughter had to have her gall bladder removed when she was only 15 or 16. That was almost 25 years ago... She will be 40 this year and has two children and a full time job.

Hey Sapphire,

was just wondering how your ET was going? I am 24 and think I may have it. Going to review my bone marrow biopsy in a few hours. Are you on meds? Has the platelet reading gone up? Which med would you recommend from your experience and research?
