Unhappy Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

I have been reading a lot about other peoples symptoms and can't tell what disorder I have. Doctor hasn't helped that much...and I am so confused. Can someone please tell me what tests I should ask my dr for? Here are my symptoms:
Constant bloating (with food or without) it's ruining my life!!!!
Gurgling stomach (mostly after eating)
bubbling in intestines
not passing much gas or belching (thought I would with all the bubbling!)
some slight nausea/pain in intestines
some gnawing in area under rib cage (usually after eating).
constipation (last few days) but sometime go a lot in one day.

I have had the gall stone test, they did a catscan and ultrasound with no bad results. Dr has given me Metronidazole to get rid of "bad" bacteria and I am on probitics. Been 5 days, and symptoms are worse! Gnawing just started last night. Been eating light/healthy foods and it's not helping. Sometimes food sits ok, other times feel like I'm dying. Is this celiac, IBS? How do I tell? Mostly NEED to get rid of bloating...it's making me miserable. Please advise!!

Re: Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

You have many symptoms consistent with gallbladder problems. Many folks with gallbladder problems also report that their stool is pale in color.

A CT scan may not find gallstones and an ultrasound will only find stones and polyps. If you have very small sand sized stones, aka "sludge" this may not show up on an ultrasound. Sometimes the walls of the gallbladder will thicken due to inflammation which also may or may not show up on an ultrasound.

The HIDA scan with cck is the best test for gallbladder function.

With enough tests they should eventually find the cause of your symptoms, in the meantime just keep pushing the Dr's.

Re: Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

I walked around with the same symptoms as you for three years. All doctors said i was just stressed out or had fibromyalgia. I did research and asked my dr. to order a celiac panel and it came out positive. I would ask for one if i were you. Good luck

Re: Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

When it comes to the gastrointestinal tract there is a whole laundry list of things that could go wrong and finding a solution can be just as frustrating for your Dr as for you.

It could be a gastric emptying issue, it could be gall bladder, it could be a food allergy like celiac (gluten), diary, eggs...(allergies are hard, because they can develope over time and often what we eat has things in it that we had no clue was there).

Try keeping a food diary, writing down what you eat, when you eat it and if it causes any troubles for you and take this with you to your Dr's, and don't be afraid to push for testing until the answer is found.

Good luck!

Re: Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

I would really like to hear the results & progress here. I have the exact same symptoms. I don't have the incredible pain and nausea that some people talk about but the bloating and gurgling definitely as well as light colored stools and undigested food. Most of my gas happens after sleeping. I too have been to a doctor and they found nothing with a CT scan and several blood samples. I found Ibuprofen helps the pressure I feel in my rib cage but don't want to mess up my liver any more than it already is.

A natural doctor told me I likely had a clogged bile duct and was allergic to milk.. I cut that out of my diet but it is still persisting. I eat very healthy rarely eat out and most of what I cook is whole foods. I have all but cut red meat out but the little I did eat upset my stomach.

Based on what I have read about backed up bile and enzymes it can lead to bigger things like liver disease.

Tummy noises

Hi...I have been reading posts on these forums for last couple of years and thought I'd share my experiences.
I first started getting the tummy noises every lunch time about 4 years ago and over the last 2 years it has got worse and makes noises quite alot during the day and especially at night.
I am so embarrassed by it, that I have a fan on during the day at work to hide any noises and avoid meetings at all costs! I think this is starting to impact my job though as I hate meetings and now never put myself forward for any extra work or getting involved with things.
I have a boyfriend now who stays over and I have my radio on all night. It really effects my life and I avoid cinema, church and anywhere quiet. I hate having this problem and have tried so many different remedies.
I have just spoken to my doctor who is going to try me on Flagyll as I read on another forum that someone who was on this medication noticed their symptoms had disappeared. I'll keep you posted on results, but not starting until next week.
I have been using Buscopan too, and I take these whenever I feel I need to, they do help ease the tummy spasms which create the noises but are not 100% - better than nothing though.
Also, from reading other forums, someone said to try drinking YOP yogurt drinks an hour before and during meetings....this helps, so will let you know if I agree!
If anyone has ideas on how to stop these tummy gurgles I'd love to know. When I talk to people who don't suffer with this problem, they think I am mad! This problem is slowly driving me crazy and I just want it to stop!!!

Re: Tummy noises

I had quite a few of these symptoms before my Celiac diagnosis 2 months ago- especially the bloating, rib cage pain, and gurgling after eating.

Re: Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

I have almost all of the same symptoms. Have had 2 endoscopes which are normal. Been through acid reflux meds normal. Barium swallows normal. Someone told me I could possibly have a diseased / inflammed common/bile duct. I don't have a gallbladder, but how the heck do you get a doctor to look at that? I just had the PH bravo capsule test done, because I wasn't able to tolerate the motility test with the tube, but he wants me to try it again, I dont think I could handle that. I am getting ready to take a 10 day supply of xifaxan for possible bacterial overgrowth of small intestine, which I dont think it is. I dont have diarrhea. Just a lot of issues with the bloating, it pushes up on my diaphragm making it difficult to breath. Taking a deep breath hurts too. I live on pudding and chicken noodle soup. I had blood work done they said I do not have a food allergy. Any insight would be great. Thanks

Re: Weird Stomach symptoms..please help!

I had my gallbladder out when i was 23 and i am 26 right now. My galbaldder shut down completely. I was unable to eat and I lost 10lbs in 7 days. i weighed 99lbs at time of surgery. They said my bellyruben was up with blood work and they ordered an ultra sound for my galbladder and it turned out to be not functioning. i had some stomach issues after that. I am now on acidolpholus and it helps with digestion.
