I had heart palpitations so strong that they woke me up--was pretty scary. I had several panic attacks and which lead to an EKG to check my heart. I also had unusual fluctuations in pulse in blood pressure. So yes, the gallbladder can cause symptoms other than the most commonly known ones; some doctors refer to the gallbladder as "the great mimic" as it symptoms can be similar to many other diseases/conditions.
If you go the surgery route, make sure the surgeon has lots of experience with the procedure.
