Gas and more Gas with no Gallbladder
Ok my gallbladder was removed 2 years ago and over the course of the two years, I have had every extensive test you can think of. My life made a big change since it was removed - I went from eating anything I wanted to eating the most bland food. Vegetables gave me gas, fruit gave me gas, and certain other foods gave me gas. My body was owned by my stomach and I had no control. My symptoms were gas pains all over sometimes causing me nausea because the gas would stay trapped in my belly. The gas pains would go to my chest and be relieved if I burt. Then I would feel shoulder pain. I saw a gastro doc and he performed all kinds of test - H ploria, MRCP to check for stones maybe left behind, endoscopy, colonoscopy and a complete physical. I then went to a liver specialist because I do have fatty liver. He did a liver panel and I was also tested for Sphinctor of the Oddi Dysfunction. So with all these tests I did find out I was low in Vitamin D, Low in Iron, my cholesterol was good but my triglisterides were 221. Everything was normal.
So my iron is low because I don't eat red meat or iron rich veggies. My triglesterides are high because I am left with eating wheat bread. So my question to all you that have no gallbladder does veggies and fruit give you gas and any other foods? I find no over the counter medicine works for gas. I am taking zantac for acid reflux. I don't have acid reflux but it helps with some of the gas. I have so much gas and I find I am limited as to what to eat anymore. Like last night I went to yogurt ice cream store and poured only 2 tablespoons into my cup with fruit - this was non fat, non sugar yogurt and about 10 minutes later the burping and gas started. I told myself never again and I didn't even eat a 1/2 cup of it - it was just 2 lousy tablespoons. I always just try stuff like a taste of it so I don't feel I am missing out. I don't even eat what most people eat like big desserts. I eat lean chicken, 1 cup of fruit a day, and some veggies.
I need to change my diet because I don't want diabetes - I am left with eating high carbs because veggies and fruit are out of my diet because of all the gas and I tried beano. What can you do?????
