I don't know the answer to the question in the post except that those are hernia symptoms. as for the question in your subject line, which is a different one, it's generally either genetic or diet. Do you understand the function of the gb? it spews bile into the digestive track when fat is ingested to help digest it. When excessive bile is produced due to diet, stones form in the gb. They are spiney and therefore cause the pain when the gb constricts to spew the bile.
