SEVERE pain after gallbladder surgery
I am a 41 yr. old female. Please tell me I'm not losing my mind!! I had my gall bladder removed on Oct. 11 (two weeks ago today). I have not returned to work yet because the doc also found a small hernia and repaired it. It has been a slow recovery because of the hernia repair. Late at night, around 11pm, I have started having SEVERE pain in the middle of my abdomen, just below where my ribs meet. It only lasts about 20 minutes or so. It feels like gastritis. I have had two children and would rather give birth with no meds than to expereince this pain again. I called my doc yesterday. He told me to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate, take fiber daily, and gave me a script for Lactulose (a hyperosmotic laxative). I have a follow-up appt tomorrow. The nurse mentioned that it could be a blockage and something about bile in the duct.
Can someone PLEASE tell me what is possibly going on? My mom says she thinks the doc will put me in the hospital tomorrow to get me straightened out. Can anyone offer some suggestions?
