Gallbladder surgery. 7 years of agony almost over??
I have been in and out of the hospital 2-5 times each year for vomiting for 5-6 days non stop which always would wake me up in the middle of the night with the attack and a few months go by and I'm right back where I started. I was diagnosed with IBS many years ago after a colonoscopy and was told this was the reason I was getting so sick. The pain and attacks have gotten worse lately and was in hospital 5 times in the last 4 months and have lost 40 pounds in that short period of time due to not being able to eat without writhing in pain. The last two hospital trips revealed sludge in my gallbladder and now am being told my gallbladder is the culprit. I'm a little anxious as I have read horror stories of removal but it surely can't get any worse than what it already is. Anyone have a good gallbladder removal tale? I'm 30 and feel I'm a little young to have the medical history I do...also have reflux, an ulcer in esophagus and fibromyalgia. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers! My surgery is this Monday at 3

Good grief! You posted while I was at lunch! This is probably the easiest surgery I've ever had and I've had several. I was out for only 40 minutes from start to finish. At home in my bed by 10 AM. Laid around all day. Took a shower the second day. Went to work for 1/2 day the third day and jogged 2 miles 1 week after having it out. Watched my diet for about 3-4 weeks - no fat. Then slowly started back eating normally. 7 years later all is still well.

What Titchou said - I was a wuss leading up to it, but it was eaaassssyyy. The few weeks of discomfort will be well worth it to no longer put up with those attacks.
