Orange poop: gallbladder or carrots?
So, in the past week, I've had two attacks (lasting 3-5 hours) of what I believe to be gallstones. I had an urgent care appointment with a doctor who ruled out pregnancy, appendicitis, etc., and an ultrasound this morning to rule out gallstones. No results yet.
But as of Monday, the day following the second (and much worse, something I didn't think possible) attack, my poop is quite shockingly orange, and I think getting oranger. Monday morning I was terrified to eat anything with fat in it because of the attack, so I had about a cup of steamed diced carrots for breakfast. When I had orange poo later I wasn't terribly surprised, but all of my bowel movements since have been orange (and soft/diarrhea).
Would a cup of carrots change poo color for several days, or could this be related to the gallbladder issue? See, I'm wondering if I should follow up with the urgent care doctor by phone ASAP to tell her, or if I should wait until she calls with my ultrasound results, or if I shouldn't bother mentioning it at all.
Thanks for any advice you can give! And I apologize for the poo talk. ;P
