Chemical Sensitivities

Hi All
I too suffer from most of these symptoms. I had my gallbladder out 17 years ago and didn't start getting symptoms until a couple of years later. What I am wondering is if anyone has developed chemical sensitivities following removal of gallbladder...I have and am wondering if the two are related.

Re: Chemical Sensitivities

No, I haven't. Since the gb helps to digest fat and chemical sensitivities are an immune system issue, I can't see where they have anything to do with each other.

Re: Chemical Sensitivities

Hi Titchou,

As noted below, Chemical Sensitivities are not an immune issue. I am a Registered Nurse, so, I'm quite aware of the function of the gallbladder. My sensitivities, which are also food related, started following my cholesystectomy. Just wondered if anyone else suffered the same...

In both Allergy Sensitivities and Chemical Sensitivities there is the similar experience of being exposed to something and having a reaction. The difference is the cause of the reaction. One is an allergic reaction; the other is a toxic chemical reaction.

Allergic reactions are the result of a chemical exposure stimulating the immune system to release natural chemicals. These natural chemicals are directly responsible for the effects experienced. However, a toxic chemical reaction is directly the result of the toxic chemical acting on the cells of the body

Re: Chemical Sensitivities

I'm sorry. Your original post did not mention any food issues. And some chemical sensitivities do cause the release of histamines.
