| Help and advice
I went to the ER Thanksgiving morning and was admitted for pancreatitis as a result of gallstones. Spent two days in the hospital, eating liquids and then slowly eating solids. Did well after eating, never had pain. Im not on pain meds and am home controlling my diet. Doc says I have to see a specialist next week and get my gallbladder removed.
I am physically feeling great. I went to the ER because I had three attacks of pain in a week and knew something was not right. Two of the attacks were after we ate out for dinner. Two subsided after an hour, the one that sent me to the ER started strong in the evening and the pain was still mild in the morning.
Also, I had a baby 4 weeks ago and I read this happens to post partum women often.
My question is, what should I ask the doc when I see him? If I have stones, is the surgery a must? I am not opposed to surgery and want to get better. I hate being in limbo since I know nothing about pancreatitis.
