In desperate need of help and anyone's input/advice Hello all, Symptoms I have: 1. stinging pain under my right ribcage. 2. my stool has been yellow for about 2 or 3 weeks, with small pieces of food sometimes. I do not remember the last time it was a dark normal brown. 3. Unusual belching/burping, gas, weird abdominal feelings I don't even know how to describe 4. Weird croaking noises from my throat? I got a liver/gallbladder ultrasound 2 weeks ago, the nurse called me back and said nothing was wrong. I also got a blood and urine test, nothing bad. But I know all of this isn't just in my head. Does anyone know what I should do next? Should I get a CT scan of my abdomen or chest? Could I have portal vein blockage or bile duct blockage or cancer? I have been having these on and off dull pain and stinging since last September..... Thank you and god bless. |
Re: In desperate need of help and anyone's input/advice The next step would be a HIDA scan that tests for gallbladder function. Below 35% or above 75% are considered non functioning and should be grounds for removal. |
Re: In desperate need of help and anyone's input/advice Thank you titchou, is there any chance all of this will go away and my gallbladder will heal by itself? Or will it just get worse and I will eventually be forced to take it out? I know you obviously can't predict the future but just want your opinion. Thank you |
Re: In desperate need of help and anyone's input/advice Gallbladders do not heal themselves. They only get worse. Even if you had a stone and passed it, the probability is that you get get others. Having it out is very quick and easy for most people. Try eating as low fat as possible until you have all this sorted out. |
Re: In desperate need of help and anyone's input/advice low fat diet / fasting is what causes stones in the first place right? |
Re: In desperate need of help and anyone's input/advice Too little fat or too much fat both cause stones. But at this point, you need it to stop contracting so you don't have attacks and the only way to do that is low or no fat. It contracts to inject bile that digests fat. No fat - little or no contracting. |
