Re: lifting after Gallbladder Surgery?

I jogged at one week and went back to the gym at 3 weeks.

Re: lifting after Gallbladder Surgery?

Everyone is so different. I'm sure I lifted my 35 pound child some time soon after surgery, but I'm also sure I regretted it. I tried yoga 4 weeks post-op and regretted it for the following 4 days. I'm exactly 2 months post-op today and still sore, but not where my gallbladder was, it's more in the area kitty corner from my belly button. I'm not sure what that's all about, but it seems to be affected when I stretch a certain way, or by activities like yoga, sex, etc. Must have something to do with that muscle that they went through or whatever.

I know the reason they don't want you to lift anything too heavy is because you may get a hernia if you do. I see my surgeon next week and I will ask him about lifting now that Im 1 month post op. Thanks!

Yes, you should have been given that information in pre-op. Wonder why they didn't? I talked with my surgeon about jogging, working out, diet, etc and he gave me explicit instructions.
