Emergency! Bug bite or something bad - General Health Message Board

I woke up this morning with a stinging sensation on my hip. I look and saw a big bump, like a mosqito bite. It has since got bigger and is really red and irratated with a little discoloring. It looks like a bite of some kind or can it be a boil. I have tried to put hot compresess on it, but it is not helping.

Anybody know what to do. I am concerned and may go to the Emergency room.

Could it be a spider bite? I've had reactions like that to spider bites, but they go away after a day or two. Hope it's nothing serious.

I guess it depends on where you live. My son got bit by a Brown Recluse Spider. It took awhile a bunch of doctor visits and meds for it to clear up. We were lucky and only waited a day to see a doctor. I didn't know what it was at the time. Have it checked out.
