neck pain & swallowing - General Health Message Board

hi everyone. in the past 2 days, i have been getting some weirdness in my neck. it feels like a pulled muscle or tendon in my neck. not one that i can feel though, almost like its on the inside of my neck. under my jaw, right around where the glands in your neck are. everything feels normal to the touch, but if i look to the right and swallow, i get a shooting pain from my neck, around the area of my jaw, almost to the back of my eye and into my brain. does this sound like i just pulled a tendon in there and its swollen and just give it a few days, or does this sound like something i should get checked by a dr? any suggestions or input would be really great. thanks in advance everyone.

I have had similar pain in the past few months. I thought it was a swollen node. And so did the doctor. But turns out that nothing helped the pain. The only difference is that mine hurt to the touch and almost made me pass out. Finally diagnosed as carotidynia. Not sure though because the pain still hurts.

I would go to the doctor just in case.
