I'm sure it's possible since height can be added through surgery of the leg bones/arm bones.

If it's a severe psychological problem because of your height, it would probably require a psychological assessment beforehand. A doctor (probably orthopedic surgeon) who does it would have to be consulted, etc. If your balance, movement....etc is impeded because of your height, it may require a separate process.
If your height is excessive because of hormones...there may be another reason and that problem resolved as well.

It wouldn't be considered cosmetic surgery I don't think.

What is the reason (if you are OK to share) that you're considering this drastic surgery?

Yes there is a surgery where u can increase ur height. They drill holes in ur bones and put screws there and u have to wear brackets on ur legs. Every so often u tighten the bolts or something and ur bones will grow to adjust to teh screws. Its somethn like that all i know is there are brackets u have to wear and screws go into ur bones.

I'm not sure if they do it for adults but I know they do it for children or folks still growing and it is usually done for medical reasons.
One of the area's they do is your knees as it is comprised of a few types of cartilage, one of them being growth cartilage. They simply remove the growth cartilage from your knees and it will decrease how tall you end up being.
I had this done when I was fairly young in one leg as the other leg was 4" shorter. Instead of going through the horrific proceedure of bone lengthening for the short leg, which is extremely painful and can take a long time to work. They stopped some of the growth in my normal size leg so it would not grow as fast or as long as the short leg. Now that I am an adult the leg that was 4" shorter is now only 1/2"
