Dizziness Climbing Stairs

I've never had this until recently (over the past month). I will be climbing some stairs, and all of a sudden my head starts swimming (ESPECIALLY if I'm looking at the stairs if I'm climbing, usually on a case of stairs I'm not used to... gotta watch your step right??). This is usually hand in hand with as dreaded sense that I'm goign to fall and hurt myself. I've never had stair problems EVER.

Does anyone else have this?

Recent/Not so Recent Life changes:
Jan 15th - Quit smoking (cold turkey)
- Stress from discovered mental problems for my 2 1/2 year old son

Could those two have something to do with it?

Lightbulb Re: Dizziness Climbing Stairs

Hmmmm anxiety can sure cause dizziness but if its just with the stairs might want to get your blood pressure checked. I had that prior to knowing I have high blood pressure... The workout of the stairs makes it rise quickly .

Good Luck

Re: Dizziness Climbing Stairs

Just a quick note: I'm a physcially fit 24 years old female

It's not climbing the stairs itself, but the view of the stairs as I climb. If I close my eyes I'm fine, but if I'm looking at the stairs as I climb (which I do with unknown staircases or else I'll klutz out) I get so dizzy my nerves start to tingle until I know I'm safe.

Re: Dizziness Climbing Stairs

Well it could just be a fear / anxiety thing. A lot of people have fear of climbing stairs esp if you can see through in between the stairs... Maybe its a fear of falling? what do ya think?

Re: Dizziness Climbing Stairs

I found out what it was. I had anxiety attacks from my Depo Provera shot. I had been on it for about 3 years, and it ws getting to be too much for my system

I just started Alesse (low estrogen BC pill) this Sunday.
