headache after running

i wonder if someone can asnwer me this question or explain it.
im 18, very healthy, i love to ride my bycicle to school; ive done it for 4 years now and also love running but two years ago i joined an air force ROTC unit at my highschool and got into the physical fitness team. we compete doing sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups; thats the order in which we perfrom and somtimes 800 meters,1 1/2 to 2 miles run; here is where the problem is. the goal is to win by getting the fastest time so i run non-stop and i controll my breathing, i find better breathing like in-in-out-in-in-out than the regular in-out-in-out, it seems to me that i can pack more oxygen in my lungs breathings that way. i usually complete 1.5 miles in around 9mins45secs BUT once i finished moments later i would feel like tunnel to a black out or i would get this realy bad headache that only laying flat on the ground seems to make it go away. i have no idea wat it is. i eat and drink enough water before i run. i would appreciate your answer.

Re: headache after running

Headaches caused from exertion are from increased pressure in the head. Sometimes it's because you are holding your breath and trying to exhale (increasing pressure in the blood vessels in your head) - the way you are breathing may be causing that. Try breathing normally and see if that helps. If not, I'd see a doctor because it could be something else going on there.

Re: headache after running

Dehydration can cause headaches as well as overhydration. You may be drinking too much or too little.
