I've come down with something harsh! It came on pretty quickly last night while I was in a very populated bar last night. Very sore throat, hot/cold chills, a bit of a headache, very nauseated. I was just really uncomfortable, and it made for really restless sleep....today I still have a sore throat, my ear is bothering me, I'm having cold chills, and have a slight headache and the back of my neck is sore. I probably have a fever too (forehead feels rather hot), but haven't bothered to check.

It just doesn't feel like a regular cold to me, I feel worse than when I get them. Is there some flu-like bug going around this time of year, or does this sound like it could be the flu? blech!

was the bar really smokey? Sometimes that can cause most of the symptoms that you stated.

To me it doesn't sound like just a cold. If it continues till monday, I'd get it checked out...

It does sound like the flu. I think I would go to an Urgent Care or ER tomorrow (Sunday) and get it checked out because if it is the flu there are meds they give you now which help you heal MUCH FASTER. Only thing is you have to start them within 48 hours of having symptoms. They can also give the same perscription to any people in your home or to whom you have had close exposure to help prevent them from getting it if it is the flu.

If the only aches you have is a headache and a sore neck, you might want to see a doctor to check for meningitis. It is relatively rare, but not something you want to ignore. Or it could just be the flu. But better to be safe than sorry.

I just wanted to say thank you for the replies!

I've been getting lots of rest. The bar I was in wasn't smokey since we have the smoking ban here haha but boy do I remember those days! OUCH.

I was in and out of bed most of Sunday so I didn't get back to this till Monday, so I had missed the 48 hours, (plus I don't have health insurance right now

)but my feverish/chills subsided late Sunday night

. Sunday I didn't have a headache or neckache, so I figured I wasn't too bad by then.

So yeah, I'll never know if it was the flu or a cold, I'm still rather sick today too with lots of coughing and a slightly stuffy/runny nose and feeling very run down, but I was out and about for a bit until I got too tired

Definitely was a scary sickness at first! Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
