Hi,i found a hard painful to touch lump in my thigh yesterday,im very worried,can it be cancer?i heard those kinda lumps dont hurt.
I have a reddening today around area,but not sure if thats from poking it,or maybe a boil is there,it feels like the kind of pain you get when you get a huge zit that needs popping(sorry bout graphic details,lolol).
I went to a&e department,and the doc said it could be fatty lump(it wasnt red then),but thinks not the big c,but he said i should go get a biopsy to be safe,i asked why if he thought it innocent he said,its routine,im wondering if he is lying about the innocence and the routine bit is to make me feel safe.lol,it did for about an hour,then i went online and saw some messages somewhere that said they had hard lumps and they had cancer.Im just so terrified.Love Ann.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The only way that you will be able to put your mind at ease is to do what that doc said and just have the biopsy.You will drive yourself crazy until you know for sure.The likelyhood that this is some sort of cancer is rather small but it is there.I agree with the above posters here in that it most likely is some sort of a boil or something more benign along those lines.The sooner you get the biopsy the sooner you can quit worrying about the big C.good luck to you and let us know just what you find out,K?Marcia
Hi, Iam New To This Board And I Dont Know How To Say These Kind Of Things. But I Am 24 And And Active In A Gym And Iam A Pretty Healty Guy. My Question Was A Bout 2 Weeks Ago I Found This Wierd Lump On The Inner Side Of My Thigh. Its About The Size Of A Silver Dollar, Its A Red Color And It Hurts When I Walk And My Leg Brushes It. Iam Starting To Worry Because It Just Began To Swell. What Should I Do. Thanks.
Hi,well i had the lump looked at and the weird thing is 2days before biopsy it vanished!.lol.the oncologist was so sweet and he is 99% certain as ive lost a lot of weight and work out much more that it was just a fatty lump,however hes getting a MRI scan for me to make me feel better,as i had cancer in that leg in 2000,and every lil thing makes you think its back grr,anyway still if MRI is ok im on course for the all clear june 1st only 6months.Its been a very scay 5years.Thankyou so much for the support youve given me.Love and hugs Ann.xxxx
How Did You Know You Had Cancer In Your Leg, What Was It Like And Where The Symptoms. Should I Wait It Out Longer Or Should I Go To The Doctor To See What They Say, This Thing Throbs And Is Starting To Bruse.
I had genetic Cancer,Malignant melanoma,it was just one of those rare ways of getting skin cancer.I never go in sun i loathe it,and i use factor 65 sunblock even in dead of winter.I just found it one day while checking moles.I wasnt meant to survive,but had fantastic oncologist,and see him 6monthly.I am so grateful to the Christie hospital in manchester u.k,as without the research i would have been a goner.
But to put your mind at ease.My oncologist did say that 99.9 of these lumps end up being harmless,and apparently we get lumps that we may never know about and i only found this one cos im paranoid about every bump.Cancer does that to you,as anyone whos had it will testify.I guess all i can say is get it checked out,for your own sanity,thats why im having MRI to keep my mind easy,the docs here are great with keeping your mind easy.Bless them.Good luck.Love Ann.xx p.s the sooner you go the sooner you can know,and if it is anything sinister waiting could be dangerous.I did that with my mole and it nearly killed me.As i say most lumps are harmeless fat or calcium deposits.Take care.xx
