hi everyone. I have been suffering from a cold since Tuesday. symptoms included stuffy nose, dry/sore throat, and minor ear aches. but then on Friday and Saturday, I spent most of both days in bed as my sore throat worsened and the ear aches got worse. sometimes it feels like my upper throat is swollen or something, and it's painful to talk/swallow. my left lymphnode might be a little bit swollen, but I'm not sure.

this morning I noticed white spots at the back of my throat. what do you think? is this something that I should see if it improves a little bit today? I'm on some meds right now (and have been for days), so my pain isn't quite as bad, so I wonder if it will get better? or should I go to the doctor ASAP?

thanks for any advice you can give me.

Sounds like you have an infection. Best to see doctor for proper diagnosis.

To relieve sore throat I discovered recently that gargling with warm Listerin/water solution will give relief. Listerin is a mouthwash.

White spots or ***** bumps indicate an infection that may need antibiotics or some other medication. Have a doctor check it out!

Sounds like you have a real good case of strep throat.You need to go to your doc and get a throat culture done and onto antibiotics if this is what you actually have.It is the only way to get rid of strep.both of my sons always presented with your same symptoms when ever they had a strep throat.I on the other hand never got the white patches.They always do.The culture only takes about 15 minutes these days so you will know whether it is or is not before you leave the office.You do need to be looked at by your doc.Marcia

I had this when I had mono. You should see your doctor again.
