I have been feeling dizzy and faint for some time know. I usually get dizzy when I stand up but somtimes I feel like everything is spinning.I also have a feeling of lightheadedness that last for a long period of time. This is really anoying. What should I do?
i get that from time to time. I know I can be standing and all of a sudden it feels like everything around me is movings really fast and i have to grab hold of something and blinka few times.
I have had the "get up and feel" lite headed thing as well. I just relate it to low sugar. I usually drink a can of pop or have something with sugar, I dont take it serious enough to see a doc.
When you get up how fast do you get up? Sometimes if you get up to fast from a long time laying down it takes the breath right out of you and can cause these symptons. It really can be a number of stuff but this one came to mind first.
it could be an inner ear problem as well. blocked eustacion tubes, inner ear infection etc. i would see the dr for dizziness. i just went thru a week of vertigo due to inner ear problem and it is no fun.
good luck

This could be a possibility....
I had a similar problem and went to the doctor for it, after a couple weeks we found out that the problem was not my ears, but my eyes. So I went to the eye doctor and he said I needed glasses.... Maybe this could be a possibility....
You may have high bloodpressure problem. When rising from the bed, push up slowly to a sitting position with legs dangling off the bed. Sit there for 2 minutes, raise feet up and down on toes, stand up and stand for 3 minutes, then take off and do whatever you had planned. Pumping legs up and own helps to pump blood back to the head.
At night when you are at rest blood pools in the legs and when you get up fast the blood has not had time to reach the head again.
To determine whether this is your problem, take bloodpressure before getting out of bed and again after standing for 3 minutes. If bloodpressure drops significantly, then this is most likely the cause.
Same thing happens when rising from a chair too fast after sitting for a while.
