One month ago I had a sore throat, white stuff on tonsils and swollen glands. I went to the doctor and took five days (one per day) worth of antibiotics to treat it, as directed. It was a week after the symptoms started that I was able to see the doctor, so things cleared up pretty soon after that...
however, the glands stayed sore and very enlarged until now.
Five days ago I woke up and the glands were very sore and there was the white stuff on my tonsils again. I saw a doctor that morning and he said it was tonsilitis again and gave me two weeks of antibiotics to take 4 times per day.
That was five days ago and I still feel just as bad. Four days ago I spent all day vomiting. Three days ago I felt alright and didn't rest much. Yesterday I had to go shopping and today I feel worse than ever, although I am not vomiting. I just feel weak and my whole body aches. My glands are still swollen and very sore to even turn my head or open my mouth wide. I still have a fever and I am supposed to be working (in a kitchen) tonight... in an hour. I have had about 3-4 hours of sleep about 75% of the past week. I go to bed but I just can't sleep.. and then if I get woken up by something it takes another several hours to sleep again.
I thought that antibiotics would make me feel better by now.
Because they haven't could it be that it is not tonsilitis? Does tonsilitis make you lose your appetite and also vomit? No tests were done... he just looked in my mouth and said it was 'bad tonsilitis'.
